This morning’s breakfast was simple, nutritious, and kid-approved!

What we made:

•    Lightly toasted pita bread (Trader Joe’s pack $2.99 / used 2 out of 5 = ~$1.20)

•    Cream cheese ($3.99 / small amount used = ~$0.50)

•    Smoked salmon (Nova lox $9.99 / used half = ~$5.00)

•    A few capers and thin onion slices from home

Total cost: about $6.70 for two growing kids.

Under $3.50 per child for a balanced, protein-rich breakfast.

Nutrition tip (from Lifestyle Medicine & Family Medicine at Sunny Health DPC):

Healthy meals don’t have to be complicated or pricey. A mix of protein, whole grains, and healthy fats keeps kids focused, full, and energized for their day.

Because sometimes “fancy” can still be simple.
